What we offer

An authentic programme

You’ll see the word ‘Montessori’ used in many different ways. For us, it’s a commitment: we adhere to AMI Montessori principles and are guided by professionally trained educators committed to the highest standards, so your child experiences Montessori as it was intended. This means families can feel confident in the integrity and consistency of the programme we offer and our students become self-reliant, intellectually curious, confident individuals, fully equipped for the adventure of life.

Developing a global mindset

We are privileged to be working in an area of great diversity where families have gathered from all over the globe. At Monti&Me we celebrate the cultures and traditions of all those in our community through the celebration of festivals from around the world as well as those celebrated in the UK. The broad curriculum of the Montessori method gives children a rich understanding of the world in which we live and a global minded outlook.

Environmentally responsible

Maria Montessori believed strongly in helping children understand their responsibility to care for, understand and protect the world in which we live. With the many environmental challenges we face today and those which our children will face in adulthood, it is more important than ever for our children to have a deep understanding of the planet; sustainability and ecology are at the heart of everything we do.

Skills for life

Whilst helping the children to grow and discover their talents and interests through daily work, we try to keep in mind the image of our students as future adults who are lifelong learners; people who know deeply what they want and have the inner resources to pursue their goals; leaders who not only want to contribute to the world around them but who have the skills they need to do so in exceptional ways.

At the centre of all this is not just the Montessori method but the goal of helping young people construct themselves as complete human beings.

This goal includes core beliefs that mean:

  • Learning is active, not passive; that children and adults alike learn best by doing.
  • People learn best when they want to, and not when they’re coerced by external rewards or competition.
  • Peace and cooperation are not just utopian ideals, but an orientation and skill set which must be cultivated from earliest childhood.
  • Ultimately, a worthwhile life has significance to both the individual and to society.

Additional language skills

In the afternoons, we gather for relaxed language circles to broaden children’s ears, confidence, and joy in communication. We shall initially be offering a German circle—through songs, stories, simple games, and everyday phrases—always in a playful, pressure-free way that meets each child where they are. These circles gently strengthen vocabulary, listening, turn-taking, and social connection, complementing the EYFS focus on communication and language while staying true to Montessori’s calm, respectful, child-led rhythm. In future we hope to offer a French or Spanish circle in addition.

The working patio garden

Much of this knowledge and these skills are reinforced through our working garden. This working garden offers children meaningful, hands-on experiences that nurture responsibility, patience, and care for living things. Tending to plants, harvesting vegetables, and observing seasonal changes connects children to the rhythms of nature and gives them a deep, embodied understanding of life cycles, sustainability, and their role as stewards of the earth.

Montessori and the EYFS

Inspired by the philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori, our environment is carefully prepared to encourage independence and respect for oneself, for others, and for the world around us—and it sits beautifully alongside the EYFS. The Montessori Method brings the same outcomes to life through a clear, child-led approach: children are given real tools and real choices, learning through hands-on experiences that build confidence, communication, and a deep sense of belonging. Through purposeful play, sensorial exploration, and everyday practical life activities, children develop concentration, coordination, and care for their environment—supporting the EYFS prime areas (personal, social and emotional development; communication and language; physical development) while also strengthening the specific areas as their curiosity grows.

Additional activities

Alongside the Montessori and EYFS curriculum we are working on bringing together elements that we have seen to enhance the curriculum and enrich the experiences of the children in the environment.

More details to follow shortly.

To stimulate life, leaving it free, however, to unfold itself… that is the first duty of the educator.
